Winteringham Wedding - Dorothy Bray

Dorothy Bray - Richard Tourret, 21st April 1935

Tourret - Bray

The Winteringham Wesleyan Chapel was on Sunday the scene of the wedding of Mr Richard F Tourret, of Maidstone, Kent, and Miss Dorothy Elizabeth Bray, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H W Bray, of Clematis Villa, Winteringham.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory charmeuse silver rain-drop satin, designed on long slimming lines, the skirt falling to a pointed train.  The soft cowl neckline was caught into a spray of orange blossom and the sleeves fitted tightly about the wrist.

Mr Frank W Bray was best man, and the officiating clergyman was the Rev L H Jones.

The bridesmaids were the Misses M J Beacock (West London), K Meynell (Middlesbrough) and D H Thorp (Bridlington), all cousins of the bride, wore flowered georgette picture frocks with halo head-dresses.

Following the reception the couple left for the south of England, the bride travelling in a model navy ensemble.

The bridal ensembles etc, were designed and executed by Pixie Berks, 32, Prospect-street, Hull.
